Life is a wild party that ends in a hellish hangover! The hedonistic indulgences of Eduard Wiiralt (1898-1954), one of the most famous Estonian artists of all time, may seem different from modern times, but the result is the same: a party is a rite that allows us to feel free for a moment. Free from what? That is something that every partygoer knows best themselves.
Director Tanel Saar has picked a bunch of characters from Eduard Wiiralt’s two detailed engravings and given them a story. Somebody escapes. Somebody yearns for a human touch. Somebody regrets. Somebody battles demons of the past. If only we could escape our problems. Even for a second, when the combination of absinth and music make you feel so nice, so warm and safe.
Cabaret.Hell was nominated for the Estonian Theatre Awards 2023 in dance category.
