The visual theatre production Nano Steps blurs the boundaries between science and art, raising the question: what is the smallest form of theatre in the world?
Absorbed in work, two scientists discover that particles visible under the microscope slowly but steadily vibrate along with the external environment. And so the experimenting begins, gradually opening up the wondrous world of nanoparticles. Each performance is unique and nobody knows what results the research will yield this time.
Nano Steps was created in a close collaboration between artists and scientists, resulting in a kind of ode to the artistically precise research of physicists and the infinity of human knowledge.
This is the first production of the artistic trio Alanen-Hanikka-Syrjä who founded the Trial & Theatre company to explore the contact points and the blurring boundaries between science and puppetry.
